Das Projekt La Catrina Canta entführt uns in die Welt der “Marínga”. Marínga is a fictional style of music, a tingling encounter of different worlds, Musical elements and set pieces from Latin American music, Classical music, Jazz, World music, Das Traditionelle trifft auf das Moderne, Kontinente schieben sich übereinander. Marínga ist Heimat, Diaspora, Verwurzelung, Befreiung und Experiment.
Die Musik und die Kompositionen um die mexikanische Sopranistin Patricia Trujano Granados, den kolumbianischen Akkordeonisten, Pianisten und Komponisten Juan Carlos Paniagua, dem kolumbianischen Violinisten Daniel Arias und dem österreichischen Theatermacher Alexander Uhl drehen sich rund um Identität, dem sich Verlieren und dem Finden. Neues trifft auf Altbekanntes, lässt auch berühmte mexikanische, lateinamerikanische und europäische Melodien neues Land betreten.


Patricia Trujano Granados
The Oaxaca-born Mexican soprano studied singing at the renowned National Conservatory in Mexico City and completed numerous master classes under the direction of greats such as Monserrat Caballe, Joan Dornemann or Maurice Steger. She performs on the most important stages in Mexico (Palace of Fine Arts, Nezahualcoyotl Room) and also gives solo concerts in many European countries. She won a number of competitions and was... 2012 awarded the State Cultural Prize “Salvador Moreno”.. Juan Carlos Paniagua
The one from Medellin, Colombia, The multi-instrumentalist and composer studied music education and piano at the University of Antioquia and completed a degree in jazz theory at the Vienna Conservatory. Von 2003 He still works as an arranger today, Composer and musician (piano, accordion, Bandoneon, organ, double bass, E-Bass, Guitar and vocals) in numerous countries such as the USA, Russia, China, all of Europe, Latin America and Austria (Chamber Opera, Music club, also as a soloist with accordion and bandoneon, Misa Tango and Hollywood in Vienna in the Vienna Konzerthaus). Since 2015 he works as an arranger, Composer and conductor for Red P music in Vienna and Las Vegas.

Daniel Arias
The one in Medellin, Colombia, Born violinist, he began his training at the Universidad de Antioquia and finished it at the University of Music and Performing Arts. He played as a soloist in various orchestras, like the Sinfonica Eafit, the Vienna Chamber Orchestra or the Max Steiner Orchestra and as assistant concertmaster with the Vienna Ensemble. But he also plays in a variety of formations, like the Vienna Tango Quintet, the Nightclub Duo or in tango projects with Ignacio Giovanetti. With the Baltica Quintet he won first prize at the Fidelio Competition in Vienna.

Alexander Uhl
Since 1993 Working in the field of music- dance- and physical theater, among other things, as director of Amsel/Theater im Flug, His work as a director, Author, Acting and working with composers of contemporary music took him to 2005 with a variety of festivals through Austria, Mexico,Thailand and the USA, where his works for theater music were also performed. In Mexico he taught theater and emotional training. Since 2017 produzierte er eine Reihe von Musikaufnahmen und Musikvideos.
